Newcastle City Library
The multi-award winning Newcastle City library forms part of the £40m Newcastle libraries PFI projects, one of the largest library PFI’s undertaken in the UK.
The six storey building has become a civic landmark and a community meeting place, accommodating a range of supporting facilities including a café, creché and public meeting, performance and exhibition spaces.
Navigator worked closely with Ryder Architecture, Tolent Construction and Newcastle City Council to develop a coherent wayfinding strategy for the many different user groups, resulting in a bold, vibrant and functional family of sign types using a wide range of materials.
